WB3 files are old Corel Quattro Pro spreadsheets. Quattro Pro was developed by Borland and later sold by Corel as part of WordPerfect Office. The WB3 file format contains data, calculations and scripts arranged in a grid of spreadsheet cells. It is commonly used for business tasks or personal finance.
Microsoft Excel 2003 can convert WB3 files to XLS and XLSX formats if the Quattro Pro converter is installed. However, Excel 2007 and later do not support WB3. When you double-click a WB3 file to open it, Windows checks the file extension. If Windows does not recognize the extension, you will get an error message to select an app to open the file.
On our site we explain what WB3 files are, what they are used for, and what software can open them. The WB3 format is classified as a spreadsheet and is binary. Corel Quattro Pro versions 7 and 8 use the WB3 file extension.
Quattro Pro and WordPerfect Office are the most common programs used to handle WB3 files. However other spreadsheet software may also support importing data from the old WB3 format. The data can then be saved in a more modern format like XLS.
