The V264 file extension is related to video files. The format was developed by TENVIS for their IP cameras. The V264 file stores video in a modified version of the H.264 compression standard. IP cameras can send data over the Internet, similar to webcams. The IPROBOT3 camera saves video as V264 files. Unfortunately, the V264 format has limited compatibility. Few programs other than the V264Player can display V264 files.

V264 files are supported on Windows. You may need different software depending on your operating system. The V264Player Windows software supports playback of V264 files. It can be downloaded from the device manufacturer’s website. Usually V264 files can be converted to other formats with developer tools.
To associate V264 files with an application:
Windows – Right click, Open With, Choose another app. Select a program and check “Always use…”.
Mac – Right click, Open With, Other…. Choose a program and check “Always Open With”.
Linux – Right click, Open With, choose a program.
iPhone – Tap the file, tap Share, choose an app.
Be careful opening V264 files from unknown sources. Various programs use the V264 extension, including potentially harmful software. Check the file extension is correct if you have problems opening V264 files.
