[Script Info] lists metadata like the video file, author, etc.
[Events] contains subtitle text and timing information. SSA files can be validated for correct formatting by uploading them to https://validator.subtitledpro.com/.

An SSA file contains CotN campaign data. CotN is a game set in ancient Egypt. CotN includes linked scenarios called a campaign. SSA files save CotN campaigns made in the Campaign Editor. SSA files also store subtitles. The subtitle format SSA was created by Kotus for an older program. Some video editors still support SSA subtitle files. We know of 3 file types using the SSA extension. One type is CotN campaign data. Another is SSA subtitle files. The third type is Visual SourceSafe archives. CotN, also called Immortal Cities: Children of the Nile, is a city-building game. Players construct buildings and manage citizens. They can play scenarios or campaigns of scenarios. Campaigns are saved as SSA files. The game has a default Grand Campaign saved as an SSA file. We have free online SSA file tools. These allow viewing, editing, converting, merging, splitting, and comparing SSA files. No installation is needed.
