SNAG files are created by SnagIt, a screenshot and image annotation software for Windows and Mac OS. SNAG files contain captured screenshots that can have added text, arrows, callouts and other annotations. The most common software program to open and edit SNAG files is SnagIt, developed by TechSmith Corporation.
SnagIt is used by people who create software tutorials to capture and annotate screenshots to use in documentation or training materials. After a screenshot is captured, images can be edited in SnagIt’s built-in image editor. You can also open SNAG files directly in SnagIt by going to File > Open from the program menu.
