Learn about the SKM file type. Open it with associated software. Know issues and use free online SKM tools.
SKM files are stored in these directories. Windows: SketchUp folder. Mac: Application Support/SketchUp. The documents are accessible in the @Material window.

The first step is unzip the file. If the unzipped files are in subfolders, materials won’t appear in SketchUp. Move the SKM files so no subfolders. Add the folder to SketchUp’s Materials folder.
To save a texture, right click and choose Save As. SketchUp uses .skm for materials. Save to a SketchUp folder or make a new one.
You need the SketchUp program. Select Window > Materials to open the dialog. Click “Open a local collection” and browse for the SKM file. Visit SketchUp Help Center for a guide.
