Files with the RWL extension are RAW image files created by Leica cameras. RWL files serve the same purpose as negatives in film photography. They store more image information than final image formats. To view RWL files, you need to download and install appropriate software. RWL files are compatible with Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw, ACDSee, Microsoft Windows Photos, Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Phase One Capture One.
If your usual RWL file viewing application does not open current RWL files, you likely need the latest version. The latest version supports the current RWL format. Check for virus infection also. Scan the RWL file with antivirus software like Norton or Nod32.
If your system is overloaded, it may not handle RWL files. In this case, close other applications. Check for the latest operating system and driver updates too.
