SAP Crystal Reports primarily manages RPTs. Open by launching Crystal Reports, clicking “File”, then selecting the RPT file. The Crystal Reports Viewer also opens RPTs, available for Windows and Mac. RPT files refer to a data source with report data. Sources could be XML, databases, enterprise data. View-only applications like Crystal Reports Viewer require the RPT’s data source. RPT files themselves are not human readable. AccountEdge Pro creates RPTs too, containing accounting, payroll, sales, or inventory data.
