Files with the .RPMSG extension are Microsoft Outlook email messages that have restricted access. They contain confidential messages and attachments that only defined recipients can open. To open a RPMSG file, launch Microsoft Outlook and select File>Open from the menu. In the dialog, choose the RPMSG file and click Open. RPMSG files can also be transferred over email or the internet, using the application/x-microsoft-rpmsg-message MIME type. You may get a link to open the RPMSG file if the message explains it has protected content.
To convert a RPMSG file, use a free third-party conversion utility to change it into formats like RTF, HTML, PDF, MHT, TXT, PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF or BMP. If double clicking a RPMSG file does not open it, the software may not be associated properly in Windows. Installing Microsoft Outlook can associate RPMSG files correctly.
