A QC file controls compiling SMDs into a model for games. QC scripts name and locate models. They specify geometry, animations and reactions from SMDs. Comments start with //, # or ;. Or have /* */ blocks. QC syntax differs from QuakeC. Shared QCs often end .qci. QCs work in Source not just Half-Life.
MilkShape 3D and GUI StudioMDL open QCs. As does Blender with its Source plug-in. Windows Notepad edits QCs. Valve’s Half-Life uses them. QCs configure models. SMDs provide assets. Comments aid reading. Syntax isn’t QuakeC. Shared QCs can use .qci. Source uses QCs too.
