Files with the .POS extension contain text descriptions of locations created by Trimble GPS devices. A POS file has an ID followed by one or more longitude and latitude coordinates per ID. These files provide lists of coordinates describing point sources.
You may encounter problems opening POS files if you don’t have the proper software installed to support this file type. To open a POS file, download and install Lotus Notes. This is the most common application that handles POS files.
