The pm file extension is used in the Trainz Railroad Simulator game series. Pm files contain 3D train models. These models use progressive mesh technology and bitmap images. The default software to open pm files is Trainz Railroad Simulator. However, later Trainz versions use newer im file models instead of pm. Pm models are now obsolete. You can view pm models with the PEVSoft Trainz Mesh Viewer. And convert them to im models with PEVSoft PM2IM. This allows use in later Trainz versions. There are no editors for pm files. The pm extension is for thePerl programming language source code files. Compiled pm code uses the pmc extension. PM files also relate to Adobe PageMaker documents. And OS/2 Presentation Manager bitmap graphics, which are likely obsolete.
