The data in the PLI files are saved as in Developer Files. The PLI extension can be in other files. PLI may not open in PL/I for GCC. PL/I Source Code Format was likely made in PL/I for GCC.
Sometimes newer software versions change formats. PL/I for GCC may not open PLI if outdated. The latest PL/I for GCC should open all formats of older versions.

Update the app you use for PLI files. Only the newest version supports current PLI format. Check the PLI file for viruses with antivirus software.
