A PI2 file is used to store portrait images. Portrait Innovations created this proprietary format. The PI2 files contain encrypted high-resolution photos. They are saved alongside low-resolution JPG files on photo CDs. Users need Portrait Innovations software to open PI2 files. If no compatible software is installed, download and install Portrait Innovations software or similar applications supporting PI2 format. Without proper software, users can’t open PI2 files. Associate the application with PI2 file type if it fails to launch files. PI2 extension also has obsolete usage – old bitmap images from Degas software for Atari ST. That image format is no longer actively used.
