A file with .pat extension is used by AutoCAD software. The hatch pattern in these files provides texture information. The patterns give appearance details for drawn objects. You can export drawings with fonts, textures and links using e-transmit. But it can’t export custom hatch patterns. You have to add them separately. The Hatch command fills patterns inside an enclosed area.
Where to save PAT files in Windows? Copy them into the default Support folder AutoCAD uses. Where for MacOS? Save into the same folder as the AutoCAD application. You can load custom PAT files to use the patterns. PAT files are text files written following AutoCAD syntax.
You can create PAT files using the Pattern Edit function on some models. On others, a .BIN file accompanies the PAT file. It contains style parameters. Ketron software can open keyboard model PAT files.
PAT files contain vector hatch patterns for texturing AutoCAD drawings. They are stored as text. Patterns add detail and texture to drawings. You can customize them for projects.
