The nwm file extension is associated with the Sony NWM display screen format, a static or animated logo displayed on select Sony Network Walkman models. This type of file is likely obsolete and no longer actively used.
NWM files can be opened with image editing software. To view NWM files on a Sony Network Walkman, save the file to your computer, connect the walkman via USB, open the “NWWM-SCR” folder, and copy the NWM file into that folder.
The most common issue with NWM files is not having an associated program to open them. To resolve this, first double-click the NWM file. If that doesn’t open it, install and associate an image editing program like Adobe Photoshop.
NWM files originate from old Sony devices but can be opened on modern operating systems. Our data shows NWM files are still occasionally used in the United States, primarily on Windows 10 devices.
