N-GAGE is a file extension for N-Gage Application files. These applications are games or programs developed for Nokia’s N-Gage platform. Files with the N-GAGE extension are supported on Windows operating systems. The N-GAGE file format belongs to the Game Files category along with 1509 other game file types.
To open N-GAGE files, use the Nokia Application Installer software included in Nokia’s PC Suite. Two other programs can also handle this file type – Nokia Suite and SISContents. N-GAGE files should be placed in the \n-gage directory to be recognized by Nokia phones. Games and applications can also transfer between a phone and PC for backup.
While N-GAGE files work on multiple platforms including mobile devices, proper support is not guaranteed. Some programs may incorrectly associate N-GAGE files leading them to open in unusual applications. To remedy this, double-click the N-GAGE file icon to prompt the system to open it with the correct application.
If no program on your system supports N-GAGE files, first download and install one that does. Useful applications are Nokia Application Installer and Nokia Suite which can be safely downloaded from the developer’s website.
