The MW has three file types, primarily the MacWrite Text Document format. It is associated with MacWrite (Apple) and two other programs. Most MW files are text files. But they can also be data files. We have found MW files on Mac, Windows, and Linux. They work on phones and computers.
Two percent of MW files start six specific bytes. If you open these in a text editor you only see random characters. Most files are 2 to 34 KB. They contain the words MONACO and Custom.
