MUI refers to Myriad User Instrument files. It is a format used by Harmony Assistant music software. MUI files contain instrument sounds and music data for Harmony Assistant. MUI files only work with Harmony Assistant. To open an MUI file, Harmony Assistant must be installed. Then the file can be imported into the program.
Harmony Assistant provides default instruments. Instruments consist of recordings and parameters on how they should be played. The MUI allows creating custom instruments by editing and saving an existing one. Users can also set parameters like note range and volume.
MUI files store musical sounds for instruments in Harmony Assistant. The software comes with preinstalled sounds. When played, they provide signals to tell the instruments how to play the sounds. To open MUI files, install Harmony Assistant.
