Microsoft Money was a personal finance program discontinued in 2009. MNY files contain financial data from Microsoft Money. You can still open MNY files with Microsoft Money Plus Sunset. It supports MNY and similar formats like MNE, BAK, M1, MN, MBF, and CEK.
To open an MNY file with Money Plus Sunset, simply launch the program and open the file. You can also convert MNY files to other formats using Money Plus Sunset or other conversion tools. MNY files contain data like accounts, savings, checking, and investments. They can be exported to Excel spreadsheets.
MNY files were saved in the My Documents folder by default. Microsoft Money had editions like Essentials, Deluxe, Premium, Home and Business. While uncommon, some other programs use the MNY extension for different file types. To open an unknown MNY file, try Money Plus Sunset or an alternative program like Quicken Essentials.
If an MNY file won’t open, it could be incomplete, corrupt or you may lack access rights. Try downloading the file again or asking the sender to resend it. Also ensure you have software installed that supports opening MNY files.
