They may be very large depending on mesh size and animation frames chosen. Point Oven is a suite of plugins to streamline pipelines and transfer data between modeling applications. It bakes vertex and f-curve data. The .mdd file format stores deformation data from Point Oven. The plugins let users simulate deformation of objects by storing position of each vertex. When deforming, it calculates deformation degree of each vertex point to deform mesh correctly. Point Oven plugin support was discontinued in 2006. To view or edit .mdd files, install an application that supports them. If the file won’t open, the storage medium could be damaged or corrupted.
