Phrogram is the software previously associated to open .kpl files. The KPL extension is used for source code in the Kids Programming Language and by the Phrogram program, which continues using the .kpl extension to ensure compatibility. Since 4.0, Krita has new palette files for wide gamut, RGB, CMYK, XYZ, GRAY, or LAB colors. Any bitdepth and groups are available. KPL files are ZIP files with XMLs and ICC profiles. Colorset.xml has swatches as ColorSetEntry and groups as Group. Profiles.xml lists profiles; ICC profiles are embedded.
