.IIX is a Translation Memory Index File format used by SDL Trados software to organize translation memory contents. To open a .IIX file, the latest version of Trados is required. Files with .IIX extension contain index data for translation memories.
To check an .IIX file for viruses, scan it with antivirus software like Norton or Nod32. Trados Translator’s Workbench will regenerate deleted .IIX files. A translation memory includes .IIX along with .TMW, .MDF, .MTF and .MWF files.
Windows cannot open .IIX files by default. To open a .IIX file on Windows, right-click it, choose Open with, then Choose another app. Select the desired application. If you don’t see the program, click More apps or Look for another app to find more.
Trados is the most commonly used program for .IIX files. Other programs that support .IIX files are ones that can handle Misc Files. There are over 6000 Misc File formats. The .IIX format was developed by SDL.
