The GTS file extension developed by Altium for Altium Designer. Our data shows Windows 10 and Chrome users in China view these files most. Two file types use .gts extension – CaptiveWorks video and Gerber mask data. Gerber files like GTS, stored in RS-274X format, act similar to PDFs – exported PCB layout versions for viewing and referencing but not editing. Originally from Gerber Systems, now maintained by Ucamco.

GTS is Gerber Top Solder Mask file. We have not fully analyzed these files’ contents and uses yet. Identified one compatible GTS file opener. Programs opening Gerber mask files include GERBV on Windows.
Gerber files should provide information on both top and bottom layers for successful PCB manufacturing. Top and bottom solder masks prevent copper shorts. Silkscreen layers offer visual cues for precise component placement. Drill holes and locations also crucial for design and must be included.
