Here are two attempts at rewriting the text:
Attempt 1:
A GMD2 file contains data to import a Geometry Dash level. Geometry Dash has a level editor. Players can create levels and share them. But there is no way to export levels as files. HJfod made a tool called GDShare-mod. It exports levels as GMD2 files. These can be opened on Windows and Mac. More players can now save levels locally. They can create levels offline. Other players can also reuse their levels.
Be careful with GMD2 files. They can have malware. Some files seem safe but are not. Check files from unknown sources. Make sure the file is really a GMD2. Similar file extensions exist. For example, .md2 files are different.
We explain GMD2 files here. We tell you what they are. And how to open, view, or convert them. We want to help with these files.
Attempt 2:
The GMD2 format replaces the GMD format. It has Geometry Dash level data. Players click to the music and avoid obstacles in Geometry Dash. You can make your own levels. And you can share them online and play ones by others. But there’s no official export option. HJfod made GDShare. Then came GDShare-mod. These export levels as local GMD2 files.
Be careful with GMD2 files from unknown sources. They might have harmful software or malware. It’s important to know various programs use the GMD2 extension, not just Geometry Dash. We explain what GMD2 files are here. And how to open, view, and convert them. We provide guidance on handling these files. Our goal is to promote easy use of this format.
