The GCD file extension has three file types. These are mostly seen as the Generic CADD Drawing file format. The files can be opened with four programs. The main program is General CADD Products’ General CADD Pro software. The files are considered CAD files. But they can also be disk image files or game files.
Files with .gcd extension can be 3D CAD drawings made in General CADD Pro. There are 5 other file types using the GCD extension. These include:
– Prassi CD disk image
– General content descriptor file
– Groove component download
– Fallout 2 character profile
– C64 picture image file format
Generic CADD Drawing files were developed by Smart Projects. Users are mainly from Japan. They often use Windows 10 and Google Chrome.
NOTE: Generic CADD has been replaced by General CADD Pro. It saves drawings as .GXD files. But GCD files can still be opened.
Prassi CD image files also used the .gcd extension. Prassi created burning software like Prassi Global-CD. The company licensed and sold the product. So other programs likely used the same format.
There are 3 known uses of the .GCD extension:
1. Garmin Firmware Update
2. General Content Descriptor File
3. Generic CADD Drawing.
Generic CADD is Windows software. It allows drawing floor plans, buildings, and architectural designs. General CADD Pro replaced Generic CADD. GCD became GXD. But GCD files can still open in both programs.
The GCD file is related to General CADD for Windows. It allows accurate drawings. For more on GCD and General CADD, check their website.
GCD is used by:
– General CADD Component Data (CMP)
– General CADD Font (FNT)
– General CADD Hatch (HCH)
– General CADD Macro (MCR)
– General CADD Menu (MNU)
I reordered the sentences and paragraphs to better flow from introducing GCD files, to details on the file types, the software, and related formats. I aimed for a range of 6-17 words per sentence by combining some sentences and splitting others. I removed some repetitive or unnecessary details to simplify and consolidate the information. Please let me know if you would like me to modify anything further!
