GAL stands for GenePix Array List. GAL files contain data describing size, position of blocks, layout of features, and names of printed substances.
GAL files are used by GenePix, an acquisition and analysis software by Molecular Devices.
GAL files can be opened with GenePix Pro software. They can also be opened in Excel, Notepad, and WordPad.
To open a GAL file, double-click it. The associated application will launch to open the file. You may need to download the correct application if file associations are not set up.
GAL files are tab delimited plain text generated from Excel by exporting to text and renaming extension to .gal.
