FH8 files are vector image files that store graphics. Adobe Systems Incorporated defined the FreeHand 8 Drawing Format. FH8 files are supported in programs for Mac OS and Windows. Adobe FreeHand commonly handles FH8 files.
FH8 is now rare and obsolete. FH8 supports vector static images often for websites. The program that created FH8 was acquired by Adobe. FH8 is no longer supported.
FH8 files represent drawing data for visual elements. Their binary format lacks words or text. To open FH8 you need software that recognizes the format. Not having associated software causes other programs to try opening FH8.
You can try downloading Adobe Fireworks. Some graphics programs still support FH8. Often FH8 isn’t linked right to open automatically. Double-clicking FH8 prompts associating software or selection wizards.
FH8 files were created in old FreeHand version 8. Adobe Fireworks opens FreeHand files. FH8 exports are possible to other graphic formats using the legacy software.
