EASM files are CAD drawings created by Dassault Systemes eDrawings Publisher. This plug-in exports designs from CAD applications like SolidWorks and AutoCAD. The EASM file format is based on the HOOPS Stream format. EASM files store related CAD parts in a compressed XML format. They represent the CAD project for viewing and printing, but cannot be edited. So creators can ensure recipients don’t access restricted data.
The eDrawings Publisher plugin can export EASM files from SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor and other CAD programs. The exported EASM file is only a representation, not the editable project. It allows previewing and sharing CAD drawings via Internet without access to design data.
Several CAD viewers and software can view EASM files. Only Solidworks can export or convert EASM files, if previously unlocked. Windows apps like Dassault Systemes SolidWorks eDrawings Viewer handle EASM files. Different EASM file types exist, so you may need different applications per file.
