A DWFX file contains 2D or 3D drawings, object properties, and metadata. The DWFX format is similar to DWF. But it uses the Microsoft XML Paper Specification (XPS) format. Autodesk Design Review, AutoCAD 2009, and Microsoft’s XPS Viewer can open DWFX files.
DWFX files are created with Autodesk CAD software. You can view them with Autodesk applications. Since DWFX uses the Microsoft XPS format, you can also use Microsoft XPS Viewer. This Viewer is included with Windows Vista.
If your AutoCAD cannot open DWFX files, your software may be outdated. Developers sometimes introduce new formats in newer versions. They replace formats already supported. Updating your software can allow opening files in new formats like DWFX.
You may also scan any DWFX file with antivirus software. This checks for viruses which can prevent opening. Popular antivirus tools are Norton, Nod32, and Kaspersky.
