The DTP file format belongs to Layout Files category. It contains text, images, and layout data for publishing. DTP files open with Windows OS using Publish-iT software by Poster. The main issue is incorrect association with other programs. To resolve, select Publish-iT to always open DTP files.
DTP files store complete print information: text, formatting, images, page layout properties. Programs opening DTP files include Poster’s Publish-iT on Windows. DTP files also created by dotTrace, a .NET profiling tool. It saves performance data in snapshots. Open in dotTrace Home to analyze.
The inability to open DTP files does not mean lacking software. Corruption or other issues could block access too. Some fixes:
– Reinstall or update Publish-iT
– Use file recovery software
– Open with text editor like Notepad++
