What is a DAV file? A DAV file is a video created by a DVR365 digital video recorder. It incorporates modified MPEG compression and is saved in an encrypted format. DAV files are used for recording video captured by CCTV cameras.
DAV files can be played under Windows with the help of the DVR365 PC player. If DAV files are not opened properly, check if you have the latest version of the DVR365 PC Player software. Sometimes newer versions support new formats.
When Windows does not recognize a filename extension like .dav, you receive a message: Select an app to open this file. It means the operating system does not have a default app for the DAV file type.
