CTG files contain indexes created by Canon cameras. They organize images stored in a camera’s memory card by recording image numbers and dates. For example, file 382.CTG has data on images in the 382CANON folder. We know of 2 CTG file uses – Canon catalogs and ChessBase opening books. If your CTG file is a Canon catalog, find JPGs it goes with. CTGs themselves lack images. Use a hex editor to inspect unknown CTG file types and ID the program to open them. CTGs serve as Canon digital camera memory card catalogs. The camera makes the CANONMSC folder and CTGs inside. If a CTG does not open an application, look for one that can. If you know the application, see if it has a File->Open menu. The CTG extension may appear in other file types unsupported by some programs.
