CONTACT files store contact information used in Windows Vista through Windows 10. These XML-based files include name, email, photo, number, address. Developed by Microsoft for the built-in Windows Contacts manager.
To open CONTACT files, double click to launch Windows Contacts and edit contacts. Or use wab.exe to export contacts as VCF or CSV files. Saved in Data Files format. Filename matches the contact’s “Full Name” field. Icon displays contact picture.
Be careful when opening CONTACT files as the extension may be used by unknown programs. Install software supporting CONTACT file opening to avoid problems. Check for errors before opening. Similar extensions include VCF, CSV document contacts.
