A .configprofile file contains configuration information for Mac operating systems. It is located in System Preferences. It has setup details like password policies, Wi-Fi settings, permissions, and proxy connections.
To install, download if posted on a website. Or open the attachment if emailed. It should open in Profiles preferences. Click install.
To view an installed profile, click the Apple icon. Choose System Preferences. Select Profiles. Choose your profile to see details. If no profiles are installed, Profiles won’t show in Preferences.
Problems opening .configprofile files can happen. File corruption blocks opening. Or incorrect program associations cause wrong software to open it.
To fix, double click the file. If associated correctly, it should open in the right program. If not, install System Preferences. Apple software opens these files.
Also scan for malware. If a file is infected, antivirus software could block access. After removing infections, scan the full system.
