The .cmr file extension has two file types:
1. U.S. Sectional Chart Map File used by the SeeYou tool for pilots to plan and analyze flights. It contains a U.S. region image in latitude/longitude grids, saved in a proprietary raster format.
2. Coach Results File associated with the CMA Coach software.
To open .cmr files, download and install a .cmr file viewer. Different programs use this extension for different purposes. The software recommended for CMR files is CMA Coach. Its website has details on CMR and other supported formats.
You may see .cmr files used as navigation raster maps in SeeYou glider software too.

A CMR file contains saved results from measurements performed by the Coach software. Coach is a learning environment for students offering tools for measurements, control, data, video and modeling. CMR files can be opened using the Coach software on Windows operating systems.
If you have problems opening CMR files, it may be because the file type has not been associated properly with the Coach software on your system. To associate CMR files with Coach, right-click on a CMR file, select “Properties”, and change the default program to open CMR files to Coach.
If Coach is already associated with CMR but files still won’t open, your version of Coach may be outdated. Search the Foundation CMA website for an available Coach update. Download and install the latest version which supports the newest CMR file format.
You can also scan your CMR file with Google’s VirusTotal to check if the file is corrupted or infected. If the file appears damaged, try getting the CMR file again from the original source.
