CAMREC is a file extension for Camtasia Studio screen recordings. The CAMREC format records screen activity. It does not store edits. Edits are saved in CAMPROJ project files. CAMREC is only used by Windows Camtasia Studio.
Newer Camtasia Studio versions use TREC files instead. Camtasia records screen videos to demonstrate software. CAMREC saves these videos. This extension is unique to Windows Camtasia.
To open a CAMREC file, double-click it. If the operating system has the right app, it will open. First, check for Camtasia Studio. Camtasia must be installed to open CAMREC files. It created the format.
Right-click the file to open as a Zip. Then extract the video with a Zip program. Enable context menu options first. This requires the correct software be installed already.
