The cak file extension is used for FILM/CPK format. This format is developed by Sega for use on CD-ROM home video game consoles. The format is used in Sega CD and Sega Saturn consoles. CPK video format is used on many Sega CD and Saturn games. Cake files are saved in Sega FILM file format. FILM files were saved with extensions like .FILM_CPK, .cpk, .film, and .cak. CAK files contain movies played within games. VLC media player can open CAK files.
