BVR files are video files recorded by Blue Iris security software. They are saved in a proprietary format that only Blue Iris software can open. BVR files contain video, audio, and metadata captured by multiple cameras. Users can playback and navigate BVR video files based on motion detection and other events.
To open a BVR file, you need Blue Iris software from the developer Perspective Software. If you double-click a BVR file and get a message that Windows doesn’t know what program opens it, you can associate BVR files with Blue Iris manually. Right click the BVR file, choose “Open with” and then “Choose another app”. Select Blue Iris from the list or browse for it if not listed. This will associate BVR files with Blue Iris so they open automatically next time.
Detailed information on BVR files and Blue Iris software can be found on the developer’s website. BVR is one of over 400 video formats that File Viewer Plus software can open.
