BIT files are created by FinalCrypt. They can only be opened by FinalCrypt using the key file used to encrypt the BIT file. The key file is important. Without it, data in a BIT file cannot be recovered. BIT files are encrypted. But they can still be identified by the first 70 bytes in the file. This data is the Message Authentication Code (MAC).
