Most players never encounter AW files. However, Nintendo enthusiasts extract AW files from games. They create utilities to play the audio. You can use AW Extractor for Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 AW files. It transforms them to WAV files. WAV files play in media players. Other games’ AW files do not work with AW Extractor. The aw extension is for Answer Wizard data files. AW files are internal to Answer Wizard. Conversion is not possible. You need software to open an AW file. Without it, Windows gives an error. Right click an AW file and choose an app to open it. Check “Always use this app”. Now it will open AW files. AW files store data for Microsoft Answer Wizard. The Builder software creates them. It also opens and edits AW files. When searching help, Answer Wizard references AW files. It finds help topics related to the search. We added this file type from a visitor. We have not investigated it fully yet.
