Files with the .AVD extension are mainly used by MAGIX Movie Edit Pro for video data. The Avery software also uses this file type for database files to create printable labels. AVD files are compatible with Windows programs.
To open an unknown AVD file on Windows, right-click on it. Select “Open with” and choose an associated program. Checking “Always use this app” sets the default program. On Mac, right-click the AVD file and select “Open with Other…” to choose a program. Check “Always Open With” to set the default.
Many AVD files contain simple text data. If no associated program opens the file, try a text editor. To associate AVD files with a program by default in Windows, right-click on an AVD file. Select “Open with” and choose the program to associate. This registers that program to open AVD files in the Windows Registry going forward.
