A 3DW file contains a 3D environment created by Esko Studio Store Visualizer. It stores information about a retail environment including lighting, floor, aisles and shelving. 3DW files link to VTPR project files. The VTPR file and linked 3DW file should be in the same folder.
When opened, Studio Store Visualizer loads the 3DW file information. VTPR files save by default to: Store Visualizer/Projects. VTPR templates save to: Store Visualizer/Templates.
To share a VTPR file, include the linked 3DW plus related L3DW files. Otherwise, you cannot view the product in 3D.
The 3DW extension associates with 3D World Studio files. It visualizes real-world data using game engine tools. Programs opening 3DW files include Leadwerks Editor and 3D Object Converter. Most users run 3DW files on Windows 10.

The 3DW files are linked to VTPR project files. When a VTPR file is opened, the program loads the information into the 3DW file. Both the VTPR file and linked 3DW file must be located in the same folder. If a VTPR file is shared with another user, the linked 3DW file and related L3DW files must be included.
The most common problem with 3DW files is that a specific 3DW file is not associated with the program. Download and install 3D World Studio. Then manually associate the 3DW file with it. If 3DW files still do not open, check for a 3D World Studio update. Updated versions may support more modern 3DW file formats.
