You can open a KODU2 file in Kodu Game Lab for Windows. Double-click the file. The world in your KODU2 file will appear in Kodu’s Load World menu. Kodu is a visual programming language for creating games. The KODU2 file contains game development data. We try to explain KODU2 files and provide software to open or convert them.
The Export World feature shares worlds. It exports worlds from Kodu as .Kodu2 files. Double-click a .Kodu2 file to import the world. Kodu launches and imports the world. With Kodu already open, return to the Main Menu. Then reload the world.
Update systems and drivers. This makes computers more secure. It may also fix issues opening KODU files. Outdated software can prevent using devices that handle KODU files.
Associate .KODU files with the correct application. In Windows, right-click a KODU file. Click “Open with” and choose an app. Check “Always use this app for .KODU files”. This sets the default program.
Kodu files use a Microsoft format. The specifications are not public. So only Kodu Game Lab software can run .kodu files. A .kodu file contains data to recreate a game. This includes terrain, objects, positions, properties and more.
