EGM files exist as 2 different types. Please find information about each of them below.

An EGM file contains shape data used to modify 3D models. It is created by FaceGen Modeller. EGM files allow creating variants of a 3D model for animation. FaceGen Modeller lets developers create realistic, animated 3D faces. The models use TRI files and textures (as TGA files). Users can morph the models. For example, modify a face’s eyes to close them.
Data values are stored in little-endian format for x86/amd64. Use ‘fg3 endian’ to convert files for big-endian machines. ‘FRCTL001’ – unsigned long. Geometry Basis Version – matches EGM. Texture Basis Version – matches EGT. GS – Geometry symmetric basis size. Same as in EGM. GA – Geometry asymmetric basis size. Same as in EGM. TS – Texture symmetric basis size. Same as in EGT.
The EGM extension has 1509 file types. Most are not compatible. Different apps handle each one. The Enigmo format and program were developed by Pangea. Modifying or reading Enigmo Custom Game Format files often uses the Enigmo program.
The game stores facegen in mesh and texture files. So most modders haven’t used the facegen file types directly. For example, custom body replacers with morphs use .tri files.
