The QMG file extension relates to Samsung Theme Graphics files. These files associate with Samsung Theme Designer software. This software creates themes and extensions for Samsung devices. When exporting a theme, the designer compiles and packages QMG files into an SMT file. An XML file also gets included that specifies where the QMG theme graphics display. Originally QMG files are PNG files. Samsung Theme Designer cannot open QMG files itself, only create them.
To open an unknown QMG file, first select and install software supporting the format. Relevant programs include: Windows, Samsung Theme Designer. After installing appropriate software, associate it with QMG files. Right-click the file, choose “Open with” option. Select the newly installed application.
If the QMG file does not open despite having requisite software, create a file association. Call up context menu, select Properties. Or associate the extension to software in the Windows Registry. One can view simple text data files in many programs. But graphics formats like QMG need compatible specialized software.
