Template file formats indicate the file type is intended as a starting point to create other files. These files display on the Save As dialog box of the application. Microsoft Word allows creating layout and content templates. A layout template contains styles and explains using them. Pages shows default TEMPLATE files and any templates a user created. To save a Pages document as a template: Select File → Save as Template. Add it to the My Templates list. Or select Save to save the template to your computer. Drawing template files specify styles and layouts including title blocks. They use the .dwt file extension. Templates implement generic constructs vectors, stacks, lists, queues for any data type.
