To create a CDM:
1. Select “New Model”
2. Choose “Conceptual Data”
3. Save the file.
To open a CDM, select “Open” and choose the file.

Conceptual data models analyze structure abstractly. CDM files store conceptual data models allowing analysis of information system structure in PowerDesigner. CDM files are more abstract than logical (LDM) or physical (PDM) data models.
