Project directories contain files and sub-directories. The project’s sprites, sounds, settings, rooms reside in the sub-directories. To open a project, users select its YYP file. GameMaker Studio 2 uses YYP file’s references to load project and assets. If an asset is missing or deleted, project may not open correctly.
YYP files store GameMaker Studio projects. 1205 file types get YYP extension. But most are not compatible. You must use different apps to handle them. GameMaker Studio developed the format of GameMaker Studio Project Format files. In many cases, GameMaker program modifies or reads GameMaker Studio Project Format files.
