NKP is a file extension for Kontakt Presets Format files. Native Instruments defined this format. NKP files work with Mac and Windows software. These Settings Files store instrument presets for the KONTAKT audio sampler.
To open an NKP file, first double-click its icon. If Windows recognizes the extension, it opens the associated program. If not, install and associate KONTAKT with NKP files. Right click the NKP file, choose “Open with,” then select KONTAKT.
You may need to update KONTAKT to open newer NKP file versions. Scan NKP files with antivirus software to check for viruses. The NKP file type contains instrument presets for KONTAKT. Native Instruments authored this format. Over 1300 other Settings Files exist, but NKP specifically works with KONTAKT.
