These MH files define clothes vertices and UV maps for fitting MakeHuman models without showing skin. They are created with the MakeClothes Blender tool. The clear.mhclo file restores the default UV map. The filechooser.py module clears materials when refreshing.
MHM files contain MakeHuman model data and asset locations. Models may appear incorrectly if assets aren’t in correct locations. MakeHuman typically saves MHM files to Users/[USER]/Documents/makehuman/v#/models.
You can open MHM files with MakeHuman (multiplatform) or Blender with the MPFB add-on (multiplatform).
The .mhm extension is for Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center macro files, compatible with Windows. Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center software is recommended.
To open .mhm files on Windows, right click and select “Open with” then “Choose another app”. On Mac, right click and select “Open with” then “Other…”.
You can view, edit or convert .mhm MakeHuman model files. Microsoft .mhm files store keyboard and mouse macros.
MakeHuman documentation reviews file formats used including:
– .dae, .fbx, .obj: mesh formats exported using the export tab
– .mhm: MakeHuman model files
– .mhx2: MakeHuman Exchange format for transferring models to Blender
To import an MHX2 file into Blender, use File > Import > MakeHuman (.mhx2) or the Tools panel. The import options are on the left.
The File menu shows where MakeHuman looks for .mhm files. Click the ellipsis to set a folder location. The file chooser shows .mhm files in the selected folder. Click a file to open it.
The Save tab opens menus to select where to save model files.
